It is widely reported that Microsoft appear to be using their own Peer-to-Peer Bandwidth sharing model. Think Spotify but with Windows Update.

In these early days of Windows 10 it might be wise to turn this off. As the whole world is downloading this operating system atm.

Here is how you do it.

  1. Go to Settings in the Start menu.
  2. Search for Update & Security.
  3. Under Windows Update, open Advanced Options.
  4. Under Choose How Updates are Installed, select Choose how updates are delivered.
Disable the toggle under Updated from More than One Place.
